The story

Yaroslav the Wise (c. 978–1054) ruled Kyivan Rus’ at its height. During his rule the “Rus’ Justice” legal code was composed, Christianity became firmly established and culture developed, which is why the manuscript "Правда руська" sits on the back beside a sword, helmet and bowl as symbols of his era. He was buried in St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, a world-famous 11th-century monument with remarkable murals, which is why the cathedral and the prince appear together on every design of this denomination since 1992. The quote on the front, about living in love so that God is with you, is taken from texts associated with his teachings. Numista lists this note as demonetized on 2 March 2026, while another catalogue lists it as still valid, so check the National Bank of Ukraine for its current status.
